Memory day

I have a bad memory. I swicthed the working shifts today a few weeks ago. I switched my morning shift to the evening shift: Yesterday the guy that was going to do my morning shift called and reminded me. I had forgotten all about it. It was good because I would otherwise had turned up 7.00 but instead I got to sleep the whole morning.

  1. Where did you go for dinner?

Is there Starbucks in Finland? There are many Starbucks here in B.C., but the one closest to me even has a drive-thru window which is perfect for when the kids are sleeping in the vehicle! I don't drink coffee, but I do love the steamed milk (and kids' drinks are only $1, so I often order two of those instead of one $5 adult drink!!!). :-)

  2. We went to a place called Golden Rax Pizzabuffet. They names says it all, they have an all you can eat pizzabuffet, chicken wings, meat balls, fried onion rings, lasagna, soup and salad. Yeah and ice cream for desert =)

No Starbucks but several coffee chains that are supposed to be clones of Starbucks. In Vaasa you can find Wayne’s coffee and Arnolds Donuts. They are both on the pedestrian street/in the largest mall in Vaasa so they are not really places to get a paper cup of coffee to bring along in the car. But no worries, any gas station in the middle of nowhere has paper cups and 10 different sorts of coffee nowadays. In Finland you can also find a chain called Robert’s coffee.

As for Starbucks they have had trouble making it in Europe. They where simply to late and the market was filled with other coffee chains when they started opening business here.

I loved the coffee in Germany; I mean nothing was sacred to them when they made coffee. They mixed anything into coffee, usually something that contained a lot of sugar =). I know enough German to actually understand what it was too =).
