New pictures

I finally have found a better place to display my pictures. I have removed most of my stuff from Spaces. Well my new picture page is http://dojle74.pixbox.se/ . It’s in Swedish but you can add 100 MB worth of pictures each month and that is just the free version…

  1. Boris, I just was looking through your photos of a camping trip. Is that your camperized van, or do you rent it? Where was the trip? I saw one photo labelled "Nina"...so this is your girlfriend?! She looks like a very happy girl, always smiling! Maybe one day we will all meet in person!!!

  2. Well we borrowed it from Nina’s father. We went northward from Vaasa and drove trough northern Sweden (stopping for a dog show in a place called Gällivare) then continuing into Norway and driving out to a place called Lofoten that stretches out into the North Atlantic , a number of islands with high Fjälls (Norwegian mountains) connected trough bridge ways, ferries and tunnels. In the Lonely Planet Norway guide it is written that if Norway was Nepal they would have built a road to the top of Mount Everest or/and a tunnel trough it, I believe them. Yes Nina is my girlfriend and she is happy =).

We then took the ferry from the tip of Lofoten to Bodö. In Bodö we found the Norwegian aviation Musem that had among its collection the very U-2 spy plane that was shot down over the Soviet Union in 1960. I love airplanes so being in the same picture as that airplane, well there are more than one airplane freak that has travelled around the world just to see that plane. And we just happen to stumble upon it.

We drove then southward trough Norway and entered Sweden again and driving eastward until we reached the eastern cost of Sweden just north of Stockholm. We then drove northward along the coast and stopped for a dog show in Piteå in northern Sweden. After that we headed home. We spent 11 days on the road.

It would be great to see Canada some day. I don’t know when it becomes possible in our travel budget but it would be great then =).

  3. You will love Canada when you get here! Very beautiful and so many different things to see within easy driving distance of each other. Our town hosts a huge airshow every year and we get to watch the jets fly right over our house! It is noisy, and a little scary because they fly so low, but very cool!!! You would love it! Also, in the town 20 minutes away is an aviation museum (a small one) that has lots of old war planes that you can walk right up to and sit in!
Shawn and I own a little 16 foot long travel trailer that we go camping in in the summers. This was our last summer in it and we actually just sold it this weekend. Our plan is to buy a new one for next summer...something a bit bigger for our growing family! We do love to camp but didn't go too far from home in our little trailer. The kids love to camp, too!
